On Christmas Eve, a PURE Programs customer arrived with his family at their vacation home to find that multiple rooms of the house were flooded. A hidden leak that caused the flooding was found in the water line behind the drywall of a bathroom.
During the claim, the customer’s Member Advocate worked with a plumber and other vendors to ensure that repairs moved quickly. She assisted with hiring a moving company to remove furniture and other contents while the drywall was repaired and the hardwood floors were refinished.
To help prevent a similar loss in the future, the Member Advocate recommended that the customer install a water shutoff device and provided a comparison guide on available devices so that the customer could select the best option for his property. The customer selected a water shutoff system, and the plumber installed the device while the other repairs were ongoing, preventing further disruption.
